Night Train series
This series was inspired by Randall's experiences of travelling on the VIA Canadian train between Edmonton and Vancouver in November of 2007 (and between Toronto and Edmonton in December 2008). As the train moved through the night, the darkness would be monementarily illuminated by various sources of light. The impressions of this journey were captured by digital camera and in the artist's memory to serve as the starting point for these works. The first pieces completed have been done with oil paint and oil pastels. This series is ongoing.
